Myron Ebell, Director of Energy and Global Warming Policy for the Competitive Enterprise Institute, commenting on California's Budget Agreement. “California’s budget agreement will not bail out California’s economy, but it won’t contribute to further decline. California must repeal the state’s economically catastrophic global warming legislation.”
This raise the question. What is the status of Dan Logue's initiative to repeal AB32? Logue's AB118 was an act to repeal Division 25.5 (commencing with Section 38500) of the Health and Safety Code, relating to air pollution. In effect repealing AB32, the California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006.
AB118 was introduced on January 15 by Dan Logue, District 3. It was referred to the Committee on Natural Resources on the 26th of February, where it was killed or is gathering dust on a shelf. There has been no action by the Committee that I can find on line.
Here is the contact information for the Natural Resources Committee Members. You might want to send them a note to let them know you are interest in seeing AB118 acted on, sooner rather than later.

Update #1: Here is the latest on AB118 from Dan Logue's office.
AB 118 is a Two Year Bill as opposed to regular legislation which only has a one year life.
The author of a bill is allowed to "pull it back" in committee, so it keeps the bill alive when the author, in this case, Assemblyman Logue, knows that the bill would die in committee.
The Two Year Bill, AB 118, is alive and can receive, and is receiving work to obtain backers (co-authors or principal co-authors) and outreach can take place. Outreach is taking place and there are more and more legislators listening.
Logue knew what he was up against with AB 118 (figure AB 32 is the baby of the current governor) and now there are 28 Co-Authors; outreach is being conducted to the Hispanic Caucus and the Black Caucus groups; why outreach? Because who will be most affected by the terrible effects in "32"?
With the deepening economics in California and the details of AB 32 being put out to those who are willing to listen (even those who think '32' is a good idea) you will see more support for AB 118 (Logue R-Chico) in the coming months. Then the goal of passage may be in the cards.
