Really! "rate of rise is increasing" Take a look at this graphic and tell me if you see the rate of sea level rise is increasing.
Sea level rise has been flat since 2006. Has Anil Ananthaswamy and his/her editor been living under a rock since 2006. And, 17 centimeters is about 6.7 inches, Over a 100 years that is about 0.0669 inches a year. Mostly from expansion and the oceans warming after the Little Ice Age, not from melting ice.
