The British press has been doing a stunning job of following Climategate revelations, however most of
the US Media has remained silent. Why?
Rick Moran writing in the American Thinker:
The revelations have been nothing short of jaw dropping. Dozens - yes dozens - of claims made in the IPCC 2007 report on climate change that was supposed to represent the "consensus" of 2500 of the world's climate scientists have been shown to be bogus, or faulty, or not properly vetted, or simply pulled out of thin air.Lets catalog a few of the latest revelations following Climategate:
• Rapidly melting Himalayan glaciers:
The scientist behind the bogus claim Nobel Prize-winning UN AR4 report that Himalayan glaciers will have melted by 2035 admitted it was included in the report purely to put political pressure on world leaders.• Climate change increased catastrophe losses:
The scientific paper on which the IPCC based its claim had not been peer reviewed, nor published, at the time the climate body issued its report. When the paper was eventually published, in 2008, it had a new cavea, “We find insufficient evidence to claim a statistical relationship between global temperature increase and catastrophe losses.”
• Climate change destroying Amazon forest:
The IPCC made a claim in its 2007 report, citing the WWF as its authority, that• Coral reef degradation:
climate change could endanger "up to 40 per cent" of the Amazon rain forest. This WWF report, it turned out, was co-authored by Andy Rowell, an anti-smoking and food safety campaigner who has worked for WWF and Greenpeace. Rowell and his co-author claimed their findings were based on an article in Nature, but the article had nothing to do with climate change.
In one section of this Nobel-winning report, climate change is linked to coral reef degradation. The sole source for this claim? A Greenpeace report titled “Pacific in Peril” which was not peer reviewed.• Disappearing mountain ice:
The IPCC panel on climate change based claims about ice disappearing from the world’s mountain tops on a student’s dissertation and an article in a mountaineering magazine. Why are these stories big news overseas with new revelations almost daily in the Daily Mail, the Telegraph, the Timesonline, and other Fleet Street publications yet no traction in the US media, outside of Fox News. Glenn Beck had a segment on the student dissertation and mountaineering magazine last night.
Is a compliant media protecting the Obama administration's desire to tax our energy consumption. Most of the Federal EPA and California ARB decisions rely on the UN IPCC reports for justification. It is clear the IPCC reports are fraudulent, yet the main stream media is ignoring the story. Why?
H/T to my friend George Rebane.
