I have always pondered the issue of liberalism being some form of mental illness, especially after the irrational attacks that George Rebane and I receive following publication of our articles in the Union newspaper. Here is one example. We do not get that many attacks on our blogs, but not all comments have a strong rational foundation. One reason for the disparity is that the Union does not require those commenting to use their real names, rather some self descriptive "handle", kind of like the early days of CB Radio.
After reading the attacks on Aaron Klein, following a post Former Union Editor’s blog, reporting Aaron’s endorsement of Barry Pruett for clerk-recorder, I was prompted to start wondering yet again about the mental health of some of the folks who comment on the FUE’s blog. Details here.
Compare Aaron Klein's calm rational responses with the some of the replies and retorts to his posts. Not all comments are over the edge, some support Arron, but just spend a few minutes comparing and contrasting those comments near the edge of reason. What do you think? Is liberalism some form of mental illness, or do we just have some folks with a loose grasp on reality? Your thoughts?
