According to a Fox News report by Carl Cameron and the Scarlet and Black, Grinnell's on line news paper, Hillary Clinton's staff aids asked a Grinnell college student Muriel Gallo-Chasanoff to ask a question about global warming, with specific instructions on how to phrase the questions. I guess it is hard to stick to the script written by the staff unless your audience asks the questions that go to with the script.
As we get closer and closer to the election cycle, it might be interesting to look at the candidates positions on global warming issues. Let's see who understand the sciences and who is just mouthing Al Gores' religious mantra. You can read Hillary Clinton view on global warming at her web site, where we find her "plan would reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80 percent from 1990 levels by 2050 to avoid the worst effects of global warming," Sounds like she is a believer in the dodgy computer models that Al Gore is using to scare the hell out of people.
UPDATE: CNN interviewed Muriel Gallo-Chasanoff and she shared more details on what happened when asked by a staffer to ask Hillary a question on energy policy.
"I sort of thought about it, and I said 'Yeah, can I ask how her energy plan compares to the other candidates' energy plans?'" Gallo-Chasanoff said.
"'I don't think that's a good idea," the staffer said, according to Gallo-Chasanoff, "because I don't know how familiar she is with their plans."
He then opened a binder to a page that, according to Gallo-Chasanoff, had about eight questions on it.
"The top one was planned specifically for a college student," she added. " It said 'college student' in brackets and then the question."
Muriel Gallo-Chasanoff also said other people were asked to ask specific questions. Full story here.
