Anthony Watts has been working hard to complete the weather station surveys in California. With only three stations remaining to be surveyed, Blythe, Brawley and Santa Cruz, I remembers some Idaho friends were wintering at Lake Havasu City who had helped me do the Mackey Ranger Station survey. When I asked Bob and Alberta if they were up for a day trip, Bob grabbed his camera and they headed for Blyhe and Brawley. I posted the results here to night. Only one more station to go, and Anthony has it on his to-do-list for Friday. By weeks end we will have all the USHCN stations in California surveyed. Though, we still have a lot stations to survey in the rest of the US. If you planning a spring vacation, think about surveying a station, or two, along the way.
Here is Blythe, looks like a big urban heat island to me.
Brawley is on an experimental farm out side of town, not much urban heat here.
I want to thank Bob and Alberta for taking some of their vacation time to do these surveys. These vacation surveys will contribute to our understanding of how micro-climates impact global warming measurements.
