Are climate models diverging from reality?

Once again Anthony Watts has another thoughtful examination of global warming issues at Watts Up With That this morning. With some help from Lucia at the Blackboard, Anthony asks the question: Climate Models -vs- Climate Reality: diverging or just a dip? Take a look at this chart and you decide. Diverging?

I have been monitoring temperatures trends in the Sierra Nevada for the last five years and noted a downward trend about 2003-2004. Now it appears to be a global trend. What do you think, diverging?
