The Prince of Wales is the sponsor of the Catlin Arctic Survey a scientific mission to the arctic. Details here.
How long will the Arctic Ocean's sea ice cover remain a permanent feature of our planet?
This scientific endeavour began on 28th February 2009. The expedition is being led by highly experienced polar explorer Pen Hadow. Accompanying him will be Ann Daniels, one of the world's foremost female polar explorers and Martin Hartley, leading expedition photographer.
The first indication that something was wrong came when one of the regular readers of the Watts Up With That blog posted this:
The “Live from the Ice” biotelemetry is definitely not live:
When the data loads, Pen Hadow core temp starts at 33.25 C every time the page loads, then increments up to 33.57, 33.64, 33.7, 33.75 every time, I have refreshed, cleared temp files and rebooted — still the same
This launch a blogger Climate Scene Investigation that has revealed so far :
• Biometric data was hard coded in to the web page, it was not live.
• Most of the scientific equipment has failed, including the prime instruments
• Team leader may have participated in science fraud in the past.
• The BBC is participating in the cover up.
This CSI unfolds like a good mystery novel at Anthony Watts' blog Watts Up With That.
