It has been a long day, driving to and from a Doctors Appointments in Cameron Park, and shopping at Cosco in Folsom. However, going too and fro gave me an opportunity to cogitate on some recent posts by our progressive friends at the former Union Editors Blog. They are looking for a civil dialog on local issues, all the while denigrating conservative thinking by myself and George Rebane on our blogs here and here.
Then this evening while I was trying to collect my thoughts for this post I discovered a comment by Don Pelton on the former Unions Editors blog.
What do we do now, and who starts it?
Don, Don it has already started, it is called Tea Parties. Our local Tea Party Patriots are a collection of people of all political philosophies, Democrat, Republican and Libertarian, coming together to bring the "community back to a state of civil health."
Now you, and others looking for a new way forward have an opportunity to join in and participate in these Tea Parties. Or, you can develop an anti matter version of your own and then once again we can have a community implosion, a replay of NH2020.
Oh, by the way I heard a rumor this weekend that the former Union Editor is considering running for office on a Fair to Everyone Platform. A platform driven by his desire to become the ultimate leader of a community racked by conflicting points of view.
I think that Don's new group of civil minded thinkers could become the grass roots support team for the former Union's editors run for the District One Supervisor seat in 2012. It takes quite a while to create a tent large enough and strong enought to coral all the tribal factions in Nevada County. I wish the former Union editor the best of success in this run for office. It's a tough job, and someone has to do it. Why not a well balanced inclusive progressive, one who thinks change is in the wind?
