An SUV emits about 1.54 lbs of CO2 per mile. If you buy your mom and your mother-in-law $10 dollars of carbon at 10 cents a ton she would have a 100 metric ton of credits. She would have 220,462 lbs, or about 130,170 miles of satisfaction knowing she can drive just about anywhere and be saving the planet.
Of course is she drives one of those little environmental friendly cars at 0.59 lbs of CO2 per mile, she can go 373,664 miles without a worry on just $10.00 in carbon credits. She will be so proud of you.
