Former Vice President Al Gore and his wife, Tipper, are separating after 40 years of marriage.
Here is the e-mail to friends from the Political Ticker BlogHi,
We wanted to share this personal news with you because we care so much about you as a friend:We are announcing today that after a great deal of thought and discussion, we have decided to separate.
This is very much a mutual and mutually supportive decision that we have made together following a process of long and careful consideration.
We ask for respect for our privacy and that of our family, and we do not intend to comment further.
Hope to see you soon.– Al and Tipper
As if the burden of divorce weren't bad enough, people with failed marriages can be blamed for global warming, according to a study by Michigan State University
Divorced couples use up more space in their respective homes, which amounts to to 38 million more rooms worldwide to light, heat and cool, noted the report.
And people who divorced used 73 billion kilowatt-hours more of electricity and 627 billion gallons of water than they would otherwise in 2005.
Dissolving a marriage also means doubling possessions, from the lowly can opener to the SUV.
In this case the Gore divorce may mean two energy consuming mansions, one in California for Al on the left and one in Tennessee on the right for Tipper.
Exit Question: Who will be the bimbo that moves into the California Mansion with Al, thus reducing his carbon foot print through co-habitation.
