The left is pressuring Governor Candidate Meg Whitman to reject Proposition 23. When Meg’s out reach team was here in Nevada County, I asked the question. If Meg is the really smart business woman she claims to be, how come she does not understand the impact of AB32 on small businesses and support Proposition 23? The response was less that satisfactory.
Now it appears that Meg is about to make a decision on her support, or rejection, of Proposition 23 on Friday. This message arrived in my e-mail yesterday:
CRA Action Alert - Stop Meg Whitman from OPPOSING Prop 23!
Please forward this email notice to everyone in the entire State of California!
Make One Phone Call Today to Help Pass Prop. 23 and Save the Republican Ticket!
Meg Whitman is on the verge of opposing Proposition 23. Not only is this the wrong approach, it will hurt the other nominees that have supported Prop. 23. Jerry Brown and others will attack. Call Meg Whitman Advisor Jeff Randle at (916) 448-5802 or (408) 400-3887 and tell him not to let Whitman give in to Jerry Brown!
You can e-mail the Whitman campaign at: Communications@MegWhitman.com and let her staff know how you feel about Proposition 23. I did!
Regarless of the out come, we the people have the power to pass Prop 23. Vote YES on PROP 23.
Update #1: (09-23-10,10:) Here is an examp0le of why Meg should support Prop 23 from Jeff Pelline's blog:

Suspending AB32 through passing Proposition 23 this November is critical to my company (United Pallet Services, Inc.) success. We are being forced to spend money now to replace or upgrade equipment that is unnecessary under normal business conditions. Our cost will be over $200,000 a year for the next 8 years. This along with Obamacare will potentially put us out of business. We need to stop both from being implemented. Your support of Prop 23 is critical to my company and the economy of California.
We need more business testimonials from local businesses.
