New comers to Nevada County might think this was a memorable spring snow storm, it is not all that unusual according to the historical record. Checking the years that Nevada City had more than 15 inches of snow in the month of March. The mean snow fall for March in Nevada City is 5.59 Inches over a 92 year record.
1896 - 19 inches
1897 - 18 inches
1904 - 24 inches
1907 - 31 inches
1935 - 20 inches
1937 - 18.5 inches (Total that year was 104.8 inches)
1952 - 25.5 inches
1954 - 17.5 inches
1967 - 23 inches
1982 - 16 inches
1991 - 28.2 inches
2006 - 36 inches
