As it turns out Ellen and I were in Glenn Brook during the Peace Rally. As The Union Reported there were about 130 people with signs marching and about 40 counter rally people were on the overpass with the American flag. The Grass Valley police coned off one lane of the overpass as the protesters would be forced to walk in the street. According to reports, everything was peaceful and without incident. Well done by all participants, except maybe one - Cindy Sheehan.
We made two passes across the overpass, to watch those marching and give thumbs up to those on the over pass who were braving the snow and wind to stand for their principles. We keep looking for Ms Sheehan, but could not recognize her in the crowd. Where was Cindy? Not at the head of the march as best we could tell. Was she hunkered down some where staying warm? According to a report in The Union she met the protesters after they gathered in the warmth of the Sierra Mountain Coffee Roasters to show her commitment to the Peace March.
Cindy Sheehan, the renowned peace activist known for protesting at President George W. Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas, met the protesters at Sierra Mountain Coffee Roasters on Maltman Ave. in Grass Valley.
I guess Mother Sheehan is only a fair weather Peace Marcher!
Exit Question: Did Mother Sheehan march in the cold and snow or not?
Update (03-20-11, 14:20) The Union has posted some pictures here and has some more details in Mother Sheehan's speech at the coffee shop. Looking a the enlarged photos, I recognise a number Friends of the Nevada County Military on the bridge over the freeway. Go Friends!
