Chief Executive Magazine has rated California as the worst state in the union to do business. It is the third straight year that California is ranked LAST on the magazine's list of Best and Worst States
The bottom five worst states, according to Chief Executive, are:
50. California
49. New York
48. Illinois, which fell 3 spots. It recently sharply raised taxes
47. New Jersey
46. Michigan, which improved two spots
Chuck Whitten at KNCO interviewed Dan Logue on this most resent ranking:
Nevada County Assemblyman, Dan Logue, says it's no wonder businesses are leaving the state.
“Businesses in California are basically leaving the state. We have four times more businesses leaving California this year than last year and we are absolutely over regulated and overtaxed.”
Logue says the state is hostile to business.
“We have the second highest unemployment rate in the nation, the second highest tax rate in the nation. When you stack those two things together, you make it impossible for businesses to not only want to stay here, but expand here.”
Logue says Governor Jerry Brown should declare California in a state of economic emergency and suspend regulations Logue says are crushing opportunities for the people and businesses of the state.
