Ellen and I just finished a cross county RV trip from Californa to Delaware, North Carolina and then back to California. On that trip I used a 12 oz Starbucks Ceramic Coffee mug. When we stopped for diesel, I would fill up my coffee mug. Most of the time, the charge was about a 99 cents to $1.15, one time it was $1.50 at a rural station in Tennessee. I thought that was highway robbery, as I was providing my own mug. Yesterday, I was in Auburn and stopped at the Flour Garden for a cup of coffee in my Starbuck's mug. The charge was $2.04. I noted that the $4.00 eggsalad sandwiches are now $6.24. We bought some eggsalad sandwiches on the road and never paid more than $2.75 each.
Why are California prices so much higher than the rest of the County?
