How do you defend yourself from evil, when the government proves it is incapable of defending it’s citizens? The British Government made a commitment to the citizens when they took a way their means of self protection, and they have clearly failed.
John Hinderaker writing in the New York Post:
Traditionally, looters have been shot -- and not with plastic. Napoleon’s “whiff of grapeshot” always works. The first volley goes over the heads of the rioters; the second is never needed.
But nowadays, there seems to be an implicit admission that rioters are entitled to take over the streets and wreak destruction in revenge . . . for what?
What makes the present such a frightening time is that a number of nightmarish phenomena that we had thought consigned to the dustbin of history are reappearing. Rioters in the streets. Burning buildings. Plunging markets and the threat of depression. The scent of socialism in the air.
Who, as of, say, 1989, could have imagined that in barely 20 years, what was then known as the Free World could sink so far?
What we are seeing in London and other English cities is an outpouring of evil. To try to explain evil as the result of something else is almost always a mistake.
I think this growth in evil was inevitable. The British government mandated gun registration and they they force the people turn in their handguns, as many liberals want to do in the US. England's political leaders criminalized the possession of handguns — the final deadline for turning them in was Feb. 27, 1998. These hoodlums know that citizens have no means of defense, so they rob, rape and rampage with immunity. The police have proved they are incapable of defending the citizens of London and other British cities.
We need to take a lesson from what we are seeing in the burning of London. We must resist every attempt of liberals to take a way our means of self defense. When the police are incapable of defensing us from evil, we must have the means to do it ourselves. Do not let liberal political leaders take away our guns, our means of self defense.
